Summary:

Our trip to Florida was not only to escape the freezing cold of a Michigan January but also to visit Ryan’s Grandpa for his 87th birthday! The trip started with a flight into Ft. Lauderdale. On this trip we wanted to experiment a bit with a new car rental service we discovered called Turo. Think of Airbnb but with your vehicle. We rented a cute blue mini cooper convertible to drive around for our long weekend. While the mini cooper was fun and cute it also was well driven. One recommendation we have while using Turo is to make sure that you rent a newer car. Being so well driven the Mini Cooper had its flaws. The pick up and drop off process for the car was quite easy once the instructions were sent to to us by the car owner. All in all the Turo experience is still one to consider for cheaper alternatives to the traditional car rental spots. We spent the majority of our time on this trip with Ryan’s Grandpa catching up and going out to some fun restaurants. One of our go-to’s is Tacos and Tequila as most of you know tacos and margs are our favorite! Towards the end of the trip we did get to do a bit of exploring in Everglades National park doing a bit of hiking and seeing some fun wildlife. Naples is always an easy spot for us to escape to during the winter and does not disappoint when it comes to sunshine!
